Leake Street Clinic boasts nearly 100 years of maintaining the highest quality family medical care to the local community.
Founded in 1920, the clinic was originally located around the corner in Mount Alexander Road.
Our doctors live in the local community and together with their families have been involved in the Essendon area for many years. They enjoy delivering the entire spectrum of family care, from paediatrics through to the care of our senior citizens, including palliative care. Mental Health issues, Women’s Health, pediatrics and surgical procedures remain some of the doctor’s particular interests.
Our practice of providing both house calls and aged care visits remain a priority to the clinic. Realizing that effective care depends on maintaining the highest standards, we are an accredited Practice of the RACGP and all our doctors comply with continuing educational requirements. Together with our reception team we are proud to offer medical care to the many generations of our local community.

After working in outback Australia as a general practitioner/surgeon, Paul returned to Essendon and commenced his practice at Leake Street in 1995. He has post graduate qualifications in obstetrics and gynaecology as well as maintaining his rural medicine skills. Paul passionately believes that family practice is the cornerstone of Australia’s medical system and is dedicated to his patients, their families and the community in which he lives. He enjoys all areas of general practice.
Dr. John Pattison,
Dr Pattison has worked at Leake Street Clinic for over 30 years. A father of four daughters, he has always lived in the Essendon area and enjoys all areas of general practice, particularly the care of many generations of the same families. His particular interests are paediatrics and mental health. He is an examiner at the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, and supervises medical students.
Dr. Arthur Tsiglopoulos, MB BS
Dr Tsiglopoulos commenced general practice work in Essendon 20 years ago and has maintained an interest in occupational medicine, and is a Casa approved medical examiner.
Jenny Reeves , Practice Manager
Jenny Reeves has been our Practice Manager since 2006. Jenny has had
many years’ experience in general practice and lives local in Essendon.
